What SunPeek is
SunPeek is a free tool that estimates how many hours of direct sunlight a building wall gets under a clear sky. It is provided as is, without an account and without payment.
The results are estimates
Every answer is a calculation from public map data, not a measurement. It can be wrong, because:
- building heights in OpenStreetMap are often missing or estimated;
- trees, balconies, eaves, awnings and buildings missing from the map are not included;
- it assumes a cloudless sky; real sunshine also depends on the weather;
- map outlines, terrain data and the selected wall can be imprecise.
Each result shows a confidence level and a range to help you judge it. Please check the place in person, at the time of day and year that matters to you, before you rely on it.
Not professional advice
SunPeek is not a survey, valuation, daylight study or solar installation assessment. Don't base a purchase, a rental, a legal decision or an investment only on it. Solar energy figures are rough averages; ask a qualified installer for a real estimate.
No warranty, limited liability
SunPeek is provided free of charge and without any warranty that it is accurate, complete or available. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any loss or damage arising from using it or relying on its results. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Fair use
- Use it through the website as a person would. Don't scrape it, query its server in bulk or automate it.
- Don't try to disrupt, overload or break into the service.
- The service may change, slow down or stop at any time, for example when a data provider is unavailable.
